Fishing & Clamming Information For the sportsman, there is no better location than a sandy beach in Narragansett! Our waters play host to a variety of fish and shellfish throughout the year. In April, there is a limited season on Winter Flounder, and later in April, fishermen start to look for the first "Schoolie" bass at the sea wall. In late June, the "Blues" arrive and stay until late fall. Stripers run all summer long. Tautog start late in the Fall. Shad can be caught from late spring throughout the year in the breachways and at the channel behind George's of Galilee. For those who venture out in boats, Fluke bite all summer long in the bay and the South Shore.
